King’s Fall repeats four mechanic families: Brands, plate-built paths, Gaze, and Corrupted Light. Their on-screen names matter more than color.

Core terms

The current holder calls the countdown. The incoming Claimer calls “ready” before approaching, then “taken” only after the Brand appears on their HUD. At Basilica, the relieved holder leaves for center deposit. At Warpriest, the relieved holder stays inside the new holder’s aura and resumes damage.

1. Basilica - Annihilator Totems quick reference
  • Split into two teams of three. Name each side’s rotation A, B, and C before anyone takes a Brand.
  • Player A takes the side’s Brand and moves into that Totem room. Stand close enough to stabilize the Totem and remain protected by the Brand aura.
  • Kill enemies while holding the Brand to gain Deathsinger’s Power. There is no 10-stack cap; ten is only a common strategy target. The visible 30-second Brand timer owns the handoff, so call both the timer and current Power.
  • Player B kills the side-balcony Wizard. Kill the Blightguard that follows, pick up Brand Claimer, and move directly toward the current holder.
  • Interact before the Brand reaches zero. Player B becomes the new holder; Player A retains the Power earned during the previous hold.

Encounter playbook

  1. 1Split into two teams of three. Name each side’s rotation A, B, and C before anyone takes a Brand.
  2. 2Player A takes the side’s Brand and moves into that Totem room. Stand close enough to stabilize the Totem and remain protected by the Brand aura.
  3. 3Kill enemies while holding the Brand to gain Deathsinger’s Power. There is no 10-stack cap; ten is only a common strategy target. The visible 30-second Brand timer owns the handoff, so call both the timer and current Power.
  4. 4Player B kills the side-balcony Wizard. Kill the Blightguard that follows, pick up Brand Claimer, and move directly toward the current holder.
  5. 5Interact before the Brand reaches zero. Player B becomes the new holder; Player A retains the Power earned during the previous hold.
  6. 6Player A returns to the center plate and remains there until every stack has deposited at two stacks per pulse. Do not leave when only part of the total has drained.
  7. 7After depositing, Player A moves to the balcony and becomes the next Claimer behind Player C. The repeating job order is Totem, center deposit, balcony Claimer, then Totem again.
  8. 8Both sides continue independently. Call center Ogres or Champions early so a high-stack depositor is not blocked from the plate.
  9. 9When the shared total reaches 200, the door opens. Stabilize both rooms and clear remaining enemies before advancing.
